Would you like to have a tour of the Warnors Theatre?
There’s the magic you see from your seat… and then there’s everything that makes it possible.
Our Behind the Curtain Tours at Warnors Theatre invite you beyond the velvet curtain and into the heart of our nearly 100-year-old landmark. Offered quarterly throughout the year, each tour is intentionally different — highlighting new corners of the building, from hidden corridors and historic machinery to architectural details and backstage spaces rarely open to the public. It’s a closer look at the craftsmanship, engineering, and stories that have kept this iconic venue alive for generations.
Every experience concludes at Frank’s Place, where guests enjoy a complimentary drink included with their ticket — a chance to connect, reflect, and soak in the atmosphere after exploring the building’s inner workings. Even better? Every dollar from these tours goes directly back into preserving and maintaining the theatre. When you step behind the scenes, you’re not just learning our history — you’re helping protect it for the next hundred years.
If you’re interested in attending all four, send an email for details on a bulk rate. You can also contact us if you would like to organize a private tour.

Warnors Theatre – Fresno’s Historic Performing Arts Landmark
Located in the heart of downtown Fresno, California, Warnors Theatre is one of the region’s most iconic and historically significant performing arts venues. Since opening in 1928, the theatre has served as a centerpiece for live performances, concerts, films, and cultural events, combining classic architecture with modern entertainment.
A Rich History in Downtown Fresno
Originally opened as the Pantages Theatre, Warnors Theatre was designed by acclaimed architect B. Marcus Priteca, known for creating grand movie palaces across the United States. In 1929, the venue was acquired by Warner Bros., becoming a major destination for film premieres and live entertainment during Hollywood’s golden age.
Renamed Warnors Theatre in the 1960s, the venue has been carefully preserved through community efforts and now operates as part of the Warnors Center for the Performing Arts, continuing its legacy as a cultural anchor in Fresno.
Seating Capacity & Venue Experience
Warnors Theatre features a spacious main auditorium with a seating capacity of approximately 2,100 guests, including orchestra and balcony seating. The layout provides excellent sightlines and acoustics, making it ideal for:
-
Live concerts
-
Broadway-style productions
-
Comedy shows
-
Film screenings
-
Corporate and private events
Its size allows for both large-scale productions and intimate audience experiences.
Historic Architecture & Design
The theatre showcases a stunning blend of Spanish Colonial Revival, Moorish, and Italian Renaissance architectural styles. From the ornate exterior to the richly detailed interior, Warnors Theatre reflects the grandeur of 1920s movie palaces.
A standout feature is the historic Robert Morton pipe organ, installed in 1928 to accompany silent films. With over 1,000 pipes and a four-manual console, it remains a rare and treasured element of the theatre’s original design.
A Premier Fresno Event Venue
Today, Warnors Theatre continues to host a wide range of performances and community events, attracting audiences from across Fresno County and Central California. Its combination of historic charm, downtown location, and versatile performance space makes it one of Fresno’s most sought-after venues.
